25 KILLED, 11 HOUSES RAZED IN FRESH ATTACKS AS QUESTS FLEE PLATEAU MASS BURIAL

The mass burial of victims killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in several communities in Bassa Local Government of Plateau State was on Tuesday disrupted by a fresh attack which left 25 persons dead.
The State Police Public Relations Officer,Mathias Tyopev Terna who confirmed the killings on Tuesday told Jay FM in Jos that two people were also injured in the attack which took place in Mumdu and Maiyanga communities of the Local Government Area
Also confirming the incident, lawmaker representing Rukuba/Irigwe Constituency ,Simon Ahile Kudu expressed sadness over the continued killing of his people by suspected Fulani gunmen and called on the state government to stop the attacks saying that protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government
The lawmaker lamented that a situation where the 25 people were killed in fresh attack when victims who were previously murdered in similar attacks were being given a mass burial underscores a sinister plot to exterminate his people
ThePolice Command’s Spokesman ,however ,said that the state Commissioner of Police A die Undie has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Jebiyisu who is in charge of Operations to go to the scene of crime for an on the spot assessment.
He further said that though no arrest has been made,efforts are being made to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime as well as to stop further violence in Bassa communities and other parts of the state
