KATSINA GOVT. SPENDS N1.7BN ON RENOVATION OF GENERAL HOSPITALS IN 2017

The Katsina State Government says it has so far spent N1.7 billion on the renovation of General Hospitals in the state in 2017.
Gov. Aminu Masari disclosed this while reviewing the 2017 budget at the presentation of 2018 appropriation before the State House of Assembly on Monday in Katsina.
He said that the hospitals remodeled during the period under review were that of Daura, Funtua, Katsina, Malumfashi and Musawa.
The governor said that the works were at different levels of completion.
Masari said that healthcare service remained one of the top priorities of the present administration, and that plans were on to take healthcare nearer to the people.
He said that hospital equipment worth N700 million were procured in efforts to enhance quality healthcare services in the state.
He further said that the state government had released its counterpart funding of N350 million to UNICEF for the purchase of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) for malnourished children in the state.
