GUNMEN KILL 2 PERSONS IN PLATEAU VILLAGE

Two persons were ambushed and killed yesterday by unknown gunmen in Wereng-Kum village of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 11:00p.m., on Sunday night, leaving Bulus Dantoro, 35, and Dung Christopher, 28, who were returning home on motorcycle dead.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) ASP Tyopev Marthias Terna confirmed the incident.

Terna said police recovered two sticks belonging to the gunmen and a motorcycle belonging to the deceased persons in the scene, adding that investigations are ongoing to fish out the perpetrators.

The Chairman of Riyom Local Government Area, Danboyi Jugul, has called on the Federal Government to intervene in the killing of his people before they are wiped out.

Jugul also said several persons have been ambushed and killed by suspected gunmen in the last one week and no arrest has been made.
