PLATEAU STATE GOVT URGED TO ADDRESS INCREASING RATE OF INSECURITY IN BOKKOS LGA

Plateau state government has been called upon to investigate the increasing rate of insecurity in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state .

Some residents of the LGA who expressed worry over the development made the call while speaking with JAY FM on Wednesday following the recent attack in their community by gunmen which left a traditional ruler dead.

The attack which occurred last week in Tadai Village,Monguna District was also said to have left three other people dead

Recalling how a first class traditional ruler in Bokkos LGA was killed last year in a similar circumstance ,the residents who condemned the ugly development told our Correspondent that since the latest incident in Tadai village,they had been living in fear ,hence their call for the state government to wade into the matter in order to forestall future occurrence

Meanwhile, an inquiry by JAY FM revealed that the Plateau state police Command was aware of the attack by gunmen in Bokkos LGA .

Spokesman of the police Command, Mathias Tyopev who confirmed this with our Correspondent in Jos on Wednesday, however said that no arrest has been made over the incident

While assuring the residents of their safety,the police spokesman stressed that efforts were being made to track down the perpetrators of the ugly
