ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT: FG launches one-stop-shop in plateau

In its efforts aimed at boosting the national economy, the Federal Government has launched a one-stop shop for the people of Plateau state.

Correspondent JAMES ABRAHAM reports that the project which was initiated by the office of the Vice President and managed by the Bank of Industry in collaboration with the Plateau state Micro Finance Development Agency PLASMIDA is targeted at empowering the citizens in the state through business enterprises

Speaking at the programme launch which took place at the Conference Hall of Nigerian Film Corporation in Jos on Thursday, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who was representation at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Tola Johnson expressed optimism that the scheme when fully operational will not only address every impediments relating to business regulations and financing but will also provide the platform to accelerate growth and development in the state

Director General of the Industrial Training Fund,Joseph Ari who spoke with journalists after the launch of the one-stop shop threw more light on the scheme and how the people of Plateau state would benefit from it

On his part, Governor Simon Lalong who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government ,Rufus Bature thanked the federal government for the initiative and called on Plateau citizens to key into the empowerment scheme without delay
