Motorists and residents plying Jos-Mararba Ja’ama road have again renewed their call on the Plateau state government to speed up construction work on the ever-busy road in order to save them from the nightmare they are currently experiencing

Reconstruction work on the less than 30km federal  road was started by the immediate past administration of former Governor Jonah David  Jang to ease movement  in and out of  Jos city

But respondents said the road which was initially taken over by the present APC  administration of Governor Simon Lalong for completion    seem  to have been put on hold making it traumatic for motorists

Noting that from D B Zang Junction  of the road, potholes and several failed portions have become a common sight ,Some of the respondents who commented on the situation said they had been subjected to the ordeal of having to visit mechanics regularly due to the deplorable state of the road

State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Pam Dong when contacted was not available to comment on the issue but a staff of his ministry who spoke to JAY FM on the condition of anonymity blamed the slow pace of work on the road on lack of fund

According to her, government had not abandoned the road but was only waiting for availability of fund before contractors could be mobilized back to work
